Bill Roper van Cryptic heeft bekend gemaakt dat hij de ontwikkelaar van ondermeer Champions Online en Star Trek Online verlaat. 

Roper 
Roper is vooral bekend van voormalig director bij Blizzard, waar hij zich bemoeide met de ontwikkeling van de Warcraft, StarCraft en Diablo franchises. Hij ging bij Cryptic aan de slag nadat Flagship Studios instortte, een studie die hij met andere mensen van het Diablo ontwikkelingsteam had opgericht. De studio bracht Hellgate London uit, een game die met gemengde gevoelens werd ontvangen. 

Roper voelde nu het verlangen naar een nieuwe uitdaging en heeft daarom besloten Cryptic te verlaten.

Over the past few months my entrepreneurial spirit has become restless, and I've made the difficult decision to move on and look for new opportunities."

Vaarwel 
In zijn afscheids bericht naar de community verzekerde hij gamers ervan dat we meer van hem gaan zien in de toekomst.
